For savings, not checking. Learn how to save your money for things that you need, I know that sometimes it is far easier to pay for things with plastic, especially online, but that ease is what can get you started on a lifetime of indebtedness. I'm not judging you since as far as I know you are a very responsible person. But bad spending habits usually start when people are young.

I think that what you should do is put as much aside in your savings account as you can for a few years and then open a checking account with a debit card. Learn how to budget your money and keep a balance. I know it's hard to pass things up sometimes but it's important to have money available for when you really need it. For college, a house, and maybe that big beautiful wedding you may plan some day.|||your age depends on the legal frame of your country to open the account and or the financial institution regulation in the area where you live.|||If you're interested, you can do Free Surveys online for Extra Money. I know a good site thats for age 13 and up. Check this blog for info and Proof of Payments

Until you are 18 or emancipated you cannot take legal responsibility for a checking account. So your mom must do it.

Those the breaks.
