I received a NYS tax refund check, but can't get it cashed anywhere since I don't have a checking acc't. How?

I tried signing it over to my mom's bank acc't, but bank wouldn't accept it. I have a check cashing card at some stores, but they won't cash it. Even Walmart won't! Can I return the check to the state and ask for some kind of debit card instead? I do not want to open a checking or savings account.|||Since you have endorsed it over to your mother and her bank will not accept it, you now will have to go back to NYS and have the check re-issued. You'll have to void the check before sending it back. The reason for the re-issue is "defective endorsement." Plan on a few weeks delay for the replacement.

Once you get the replacement, you SHOULD be able to cash it at Wally World. The reason that they won't accept it now is it is now a 2-party check. Bring the replacement to them WITHOUT and endorsement and they should cash it for you. You'll endorse it in front of the cashier and you should be good to go at that point.|||You way not "want" to open a checking account, but it sounds like you may have to anyways. The world does not revolve around you and what you "want" to do. Everyone else in this country has an account and the government does not work around princesses who don't "want" to do something. Get over it!|||There are check cashing company out there where you can cash the check, but you have to pay certain fees. You need your identity card as well.
